Privacy notice
Privacy, minus the small print.
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and nothing you write is stored on a server. Here’s exactly what happens to your information — and what doesn’t.

Who we are
This is an independent concept website designed by Peashoot for Blue Almond Hostel. It is not yet the hostel’s official website.
The hostel is Blue Almond Hostel, Barrio Los Almendros, Manzana 4, Casa 3, San Andrés, Colombia, registered in Colombia’s National Tourism Registry as RNT 29218. The hostel is who receives and handles your reservation details when you book or write to it, so under Colombian law it is the party responsible for that information (the responsable del tratamiento).
The website itself doesn’t collect personal data, so there is nothing for it — or for Peashoot — to keep.
What this site doesn’t do
- No cookies. Not for analytics, not for ads, not to “remember” you.
- No analytics and no tracking pixels. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, nothing that follows you around the web.
- No accounts. There’s nothing to sign up for or log in to.
- No server-side storage of what you write. The contact and booking composers work entirely in your browser. No form is submitted to a server and there is no database.
That’s also why there’s no cookie banner: there’s nothing to ask your consent for.
What stays on your device
Two things are saved in your own browser, only on this device, and only when you use the features that need them:
- Your “My trip” shortlist, in
localStorageunder the keyba:trip:v1. It holds the IDs of the places and experiences you saved with the heart button, and it stays until you clear it. - Your booking-request draft, in
sessionStorageunderba:draft:v1, while you use the booking planner: dates, number of guests, room choice, arrival time, activities, and any notes or name you type. Your browser deletes it when you close the tab.
The site never sends either of them anywhere. They only reach the hostel if you put them in a message and send it yourself.
So you can reload or share it, the booking planner also keeps your dates, number of guests, room and activity picks in the page address (for example ?checkIn=2026-11-14). Your name and notes never go in the address.
How to clear them
- Empty your shortlist with the clear button in the My trip panel of the island guide.
- Close the tab to drop the booking draft.
- Or delete everything at once: in your browser’s settings, find this website’s stored data (usually under “Site settings” or “Cookies and site data”) and clear it.
Messages you send
The contact composer and the booking planner only put your message together on your screen. Then you choose how to send it:
- Email opens your own email app with the message ready. Nothing goes out until you press send.
- Instagram copies the message to your clipboard and opens a chat with @bluealmondhostel; you paste it and send it.
- Call hands the number to your phone.
Once you send a message, it’s handled by the service you used — your email provider, Instagram (Meta) or your phone carrier — under its own terms, and by the hostel, which receives it. Instagram explains its rules in its privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Booking channels
When you book, you leave this site. Your booking is processed by the channel you choose, under its own privacy policy:
- The hostel’s own booking engine, which runs on LobbyPMS (opens in a new tab).
- Hostelworld: see its security and privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
The hostel then receives the reservation details it needs to host you. Links from this site only carry your stay dates (plus, for Hostelworld, the number of guests) so the channel opens on the right days — never your name or your messages.
Hosting and request logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data — your IP address, your browser’s user agent and the address (URL) of the page you asked for — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab); this site doesn’t use it for analytics or profiling.
Because the requested URL is part of those logs, the dates, guests and room choices that the booking tools put in the page address can appear there. Your name and messages never do.
Photos, video and fonts
Photos, videos and fonts are served from this website itself. There are no YouTube, Instagram or Google Maps embeds and no Google Fonts, so no third party gets a request just because you opened a page.
Links to other sites — Instagram, Hostelworld, Google Maps and the like — open in a new tab. From there, that site’s own privacy policy applies.
Your rights (Ley 1581 de 2012)
In Colombia, personal data is protected by Ley 1581 de 2012 (the habeas data law), regulated by Decreto 1377 de 2013, now compiled in Decreto 1074 de 2015. As the owner of your data (the titular), you have the right to:
- Know, update and rectify your personal data.
- Ask for proof of the authorisation you gave for it to be processed.
- Be told, on request, how your data has been used.
- Revoke your authorisation and/or ask for your data to be deleted, unless a legal or contractual duty requires it to be kept.
- Access your personal data free of charge.
- Complain to the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC) (opens in a new tab) about breaches of the law, after first contacting the party responsible for your data.
Since this website holds none of your personal data, you exercise these rights with the hostel.
How to exercise them
Write to the hostel at islatur@gmail.com. To help it find your information, include:
- your full name and how you contacted or booked (channel and dates);
- what you’d like: to see, correct or delete your data, or to revoke your authorisation;
- an email address or phone number for the reply.
Under the law, queries (consultas) must be answered within 10 business days and complaints (reclamos) within 15 business days; each deadline can be extended once if you’re told why. If you’re not happy with the answer, you can take it to the SIC (opens in a new tab).
Changes to this notice
If what this site does changes — for example, if it ever adds analytics or becomes the hostel’s official website — this notice will be updated first, and the “Last updated” date at the top will change.
